(English Abstract)
The purpose of this study is to analyze EEG changes during programming to drive a robot under the color temperatures of LED illuminance. In order to do so, we measured and analyzed EEG (delta, alpha, theta, beta waves, and subdivided alpha waves) during programming to drive a robot under a LED illuminance system with color temperatures of 3000K, 5000K, and 7000K. From the results, a LED illuminance system with a color temperature of 7000K is recommended for the activity of robotics programming, which has been shown to affect not only the stable group (higher stability indexes) but also the unstable group (lower stability indexes). In addition, in the lower stability index group, the lighting effect was greater than in the higher stability index group. In particular, in the left and right occipital lobe, activity of the unstable group at 7000K was significantly increased in alpha waves of 9-10Hz and 10-11Hz, and in the left prefrontal lobe, the activity of the stable group at 7000K was significantly increased in alpha waves of 12-13Hz. This study is based on robotics programming, and it is difficult to generalize the results as a whole. Nonetheless, for at least educational activities requiring logical thinking such as programming, it is known that both stable and unstable groups are affected by LED illuminance. In particular, it is confirmed that 7000K illuminance is effective for all groups in robotics programming education. Furthermore, LED illuminance with 7000K color temperature is recommended in order to obtain similar learning outcomes for all students. Research has shown that 5000K LED illuminance can be recommended for meditation and humanistic thinking activities. Therefore, LED illuminance with various color temperatures should be installed in elementary, middle, high school, and college classrooms where diverse learning activities such as learning activities within the humanities as well as science and engineering activities such as the programming exercises of this research are performed.
